What is sata?

Founded in 2016, SATA is a 501(C)(3) comprised of tennis enthusiasts and community leaders centered on bringing families together through healthy physical activity, and mentoring youth through the sport of tennis.

Through SATA’s successes to date, the organization is now a recognized chapter of the USTA National Tennis and Learning (NJTL) program.

In addition to our mission to promote education attainment, our promotion of character development is taught through V.A.L.U.E.S. education. This education emphasizes six core principles:

VICTORY

In Effort,
Not Outcome

ATTITUDE

Be Positive

LEAD

By Example

Marcos Senyil

Known for his infectious smile and welcoming personality, Coach Marcos is a cornerstone of the Southside Area Tennis Association. He leads much of the Learn, Practice, and Play programming, where he’s recognized for his ability to teach the fundamentals, keep classes engaging, and help young players grow in both skill and confidence. Beyond coaching, Marcos plays a vital role in keeping tennis thriving in the region—he oversees the maintenance of all courts at our sister organization, Stratford Tennis Club in Danville, VA. Whether he’s working with beginners, running fast-paced drills, or making sure the courts are in top shape, Marcos brings energy, dedication, and a true love for the game to everything he does.
